Jaguars innocent victims in Toronto talk

The poor Jaguars.

They’ve got enough on their plate trying to sell tickets and maintain a good year of momentum with the lockout going on.

Then Toronto politician Doug Ford says his city is lining up to get an NFL team after Los Angeles gets one.

Said Ford, per Brad Gagnon in The Score:

“They have to take care of the problem in Los Angeles first. Two teams are kind of in play here: Jacksonville’s number one; New Orleans is the other. So there’s two teams. Once they take care of Los Angeles, we’re going to fly over to New York, set up a meeting with [NFL commissioner Roger] Goodell and give him our pitch.”

The Jaguars, of course, are innocent bystanders here.

They have their head down, working and they wake up to find someone they aren’t connected to having a big bearing on the national, and international, perception of their stability.

Would the NFL really want a team relocating so close to Buffalo? The right new venue and potential buyer or package for current ownership could be a lure.

But the league’s going to treat Bills owner Ralph Wilson right and this would be in his backyard.

The Bills are hardly mentioned here, but they are probably the real Toronto target.

I'd like Pippa Middleton to relocate to my neighborhood. But getting the idea out there doesn't do a lot to make it happen.
