TAMPA, Fla. – New Orleans coach Sean Payton is expected to work the second half of the game from the coaches’ box.
Payton was hit in the leg by tight end Jimmy Graham in the first quarter. The contact came as Graham caught a pass and was forced out of bounds.
Payton spent much of the first half sitting on a bench with his leg elevated. At times, the leg also was being iced. But Payton kept his headset on throughout and appeared to still be calling plays.
The Saints just announced that Payton has a torn MCL and a tibia plateau fracture.
