Patriots' Super Bowl XLVI injury report

INDIANAPOLIS -- Here is the final injury report for the New England Patriots (15-3) in Super Bowl XLVI against the New York Giants (12-7):

QUESTIONABLE: TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle), OT Marcus Cannon (ankle), S Patrick Chung (knee), LB Dane Fletcher (thumb), DL Kyle Love (ankle), G Logan Mankins (knee), LB Rob Ninkovich (hip), LB Brandon Spikes (knee), OT Sebastian Vollmer (flu/back/foot), WR Wes Welker (knee), LB Tracy White (abdomen),

PROBABLE: WR Deion Branch (knee), C Dan Connolly (groin), S James Ihedigbo (shoulder), OT Matt Light (flu), WR Matthew Slater (shoulder)

Analysis: The Patriots have 11 players questionable, but that's nothing new since late in the season. Gronkowski obviously was the biggest news all week, but it looks pretty certain he will play. I think Vollmer's injury is one to watch. Although his position coach assured Vollmer will play in this game, he has missed the entire playoffs and rust could be an issue, particularly early. New York's pass rush is going to be relentless. Therefore, New England needs Vollmer to be sharp early on the edge protecting Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
