Here are the most interesting stories Thursday in the AFC North:

Morning take: Geathers seems optimistic about a June return. But this may be another thing to monitor for Cincinnati this summer, along with quarterback Carson Palmer's progress and receiver Chad Ocho Cinco's status.

Morning take: Expect the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants to be considerations. But is the door now closed for the Baltimore Ravens?

Morning take: Doerschuk has Brady Quinn winning the quarterback competition over Derek Anderson. Let the debate begin.

  • Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer says the Browns caught a break with the 2009 schedule.

Morning take: While Browns have an easier strength of schedule this year (No. 25 in the NFL), those first three games against the Minnesota Vikings at home, then at the Denver Broncos and at the Baltimore Ravens are rugged. A potential 0-3 start would be dreadful for new coach Eric Mangini.
