Lions: As expected, Louis Delmas will start

PHILADELPHIA -- In essence, the Detroit Lions will have three new starters in their secondary Sunday when they return from their bye against the Philadelphia Eagles.

As expected, safety Louis Delmas is active and will make his 2012 debut after taking more than two months to recover from knee surgery. Delmas will start alongside his 2011 partner, Amari Spievey, who has recaptured his starting job. Meanwhile, Jacob Lacey has supplanted rookie Bill Bentley as a starting cornerback. Bentley had two big pass interference penalties in the Lions' Week 4 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Lions deactivated tailback Kevin Smith, who hasn't had a carry or a reception in the two games since Mikel Leshoure returned from an NFL suspension. Joique Bell and Keiland Williams will be available behind Leshoure on Sunday.
