Falcons work on keeping their own

The Atlanta Falcons have said all along that their priority in free agency is to keep their own key players.

They’re backing up that talk. Strong safety William Moore has agreed to a five-year contract, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Exact terms of the contract aren’t known, but it’s likely Moore will be among the league’s best-paid safeties. A second-round pick, Moore has emerged as a steady presence in the secondary and made the Pro Bowl last season.

Moore and Thomas DeCoud have become one of the league’s better safety tandems, and the Falcons were wise to keep them together.

With Moore taken care, of the next logical targets for the Falcons to try to re-sign are left tackle Sam Baker and cornerback Brent Grimes.
