The two teams haven’t talked much in recent days, but Albert and the Dolphins were given permission by the Chiefs to talk about a contract.
I think a physical for Albert in Miami needs to happen soon so a deal can be finalized quickly. The deadline here is Friday. The compensation will likely be a second-round pick. The Dolphins have the No. 42 and No. 54 picks in the second round. The second round starts Friday evening.
It could also benefit the Chiefs to get the deal done before the first round starts Thursday. Perhaps the Dolphins could get tired of the Albert talks and make a move to draft a left tackle in the first round.
Expect news to come quickly as this trade either comes together or falls apart in the next two days.
My guess is it gets done. It benefits both teams. But time is becoming an issue.
