We've heard this before from Texans coach Gary Kubiak, but barring another setback, he's hopeful he might get running back Arian Foster back next week.
"No, just he’s doing good," Kubiak said, when asked if there was anything new with Foster. "Hopefully, we have a clean weekend and we wake up Monday and we get back to work. So, we’ll see where we’re at.”
The last time Kubiak thought Foster was close to returning from a calf injury suffered in organized team activities, he was right.
Foster's calf healed, but back issues kept him on the physically unable to perform list.
The Texans aren't just resting Foster, but his back is making enough progress that they aren't overly concerned about him.
As I've said before, though, there is no sense in pushing him now, given the beating his body will take during the regular season.
