IRVING, Texas -- Maybe it is only a coincidence the Dallas Cowboys play the New York Giants in the season opener, but, according to sources, they claimed linebacker Kyle Bosworth off waivers a day after he was cut by their NFC East rivals.
Bosworth brings depth and special-teams value to the roster and takes the place of defensive tackle Sean Lissemore, who was traded to San Diego on Sunday.
Bosworth, the nephew of former Oklahoma great Brian Bosworth, spent his first three seasons in Jacksonville, but was slowed by injuries his first two years. He started five games last year and had 37 tackles and an interception but was not tendered a contract as a restricted free agent. In 25 games he has 15 special-teams tackles.
