Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey has left today’s game against the Titans with what appears to be a serious knee injury.
Pouncey got hurt on the Steelers’ first possession of the game after right guard David DeCastro rolled onto his lower right leg on a running play. Pouncey stayed down as a hush fell over the crowd at Heinz Field, and the three-time Pro Bowler left the field on a cart.
Pouncey is the anchor of a young offensive line, and his loss leaves the Steelers with just six linemen for the rest of the game.
The Steelers only dressed seven offensive linemen because of Kelvin Beachum’s versatility. Beachum, a second-year offensive tackle, has taken over at center.
