Spencer, Waters set for debuts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer will make his debut today against the Kansas City Chiefs after missing the season opener because of knee surgery on July 25.

Spencer practiced only twice with the team leading into the game, sitting out of Thursday’s session as part of a planned day off. George Selvie will start in Spencer’s place as Spencer works his way into shape.

The Cowboys have dressed nine defensive linemen for Sunday’s game, expecting a heavy dose of Jamaal Charles.

Guard Brian Waters will also make his debut, but Mackenzy Bernadeau will start at right guard. Waters spent the first 11 years of his career with the Chiefs. Waters will see action as the Cowboys rotate their guards.

Wide receiver Cole Beasley, running back Joseph Randle, linebacker Ernie Sims, guard David Arkin, tackle Darrion Weems, tight end Andre Smith and defensive end Caesar Rayford are inactive.
