Bernard atop Bengals' lengthy injury report

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Bengals' injury report Thursday afternoon was the team's longest of the young season, and included three names that were absent on the report released the day before -- one of which belongs to a rookie running back who took the NFL by storm Monday night with his two-touchdown effort against Pittsburgh.

Giovani Bernard, the first-year player out of North Carolina, headlined the list of newly injured Bengals. Less than four days after rumbling for a 7-yard touchdown run and weaving around defenders on his 27-yard touchdown reception, Bernard was limited in practices due to a hamstring injury.

He was joined in limited participation by defensive end Wallace Gilberry (knee) and tight end Alex Smith (illness).

Also making the injury report was receiver Marvin Jones, who was kept out of the workout entirely because of a foot injury. The missed practice was the first of the regular season for the second-year player from Cal. So far this season, he has caught four passes for 42 yards.

Cincinnati hosts Green Bay at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.

Here is the Bengals' complete injury report for Thursday:

Did not practice: DE Robert Geathers (IR -- elbow), OT Anthony Collins (knee), CB Brandon Ghee (concussion), WR Marvin Jones (foot), CB Dre Kirkpatrick (hamstring), S Jeromy Miles (hamstring), G Mike Pollak (knee)

Limited participation in practice: RB Giovani Bernard (hamstring), DE Carlos Dunlap (thigh), DE Wallace Gilberry (knee), CB Adam Jones (abdomen), TE Alex Smith (illness)
