High ankle sprain to sideline Ezekial Ansah next week

Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah is battling a high ankle sprain that is expected to sideline him next week, yet still raises questions, a source told ESPN.

Ansah underwent an MRI on his high ankle sprain last week and those pictures are being sent for a second opinion that will not be rendered until Tuesday, according to the source.

For now the Lions do not think the injury will sideline Ansash more than the next couple of games, but the final doctor's opinions are not in and the Lions still need to see how quickly he can bounce back from a tough injury.

Ansah, who is as important to Detroit's defense as J.J. Watt is to Houston or Khalil Mack is to Oakland, was officially ruled out Friday for the Lions' game against the Packers.
