A few years ago, when every NFC West team finished with a losing record, quarterbacks from the division weren't in great demand for public appearances. They weren't posing for pictures with leading political figures, to my knowledge.
Consider it progress, then, that First Lady Michelle Obama happily posed with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The two were together at the White House back in late February to promote her "Let's Move" fitness campaign. Kaepernick tweeted a photo of them executing his "Kaepernicking" celebration Tuesday.
Next up for NFC West quarterbacks: earning one of the White House visits reserved for Super Bowl champions.
