EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- As the Minnesota Vikings went through their final practice before their regular-season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, they had all 52 players on their roster "present and accounted for" on Saturday, as coach Mike Zimmer put it.
The Vikings listed every player on their roster as probable in the final injury report on Saturday. The only four players who were on the injury report -- defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (knee), tight end MyCole Pruitt (ankle), tight end Chase Ford (shoulder) and fullback Zach Line (knee) -- were full participants in practice on Friday.
"They're all here, they're all ready to roll," Zimmer said.
It's possibly the healthiest the Vikings will be all season, though they've still got an extra roster spot they can fill after center John Sullivan was placed on short-term injured reserve following back surgery on Wednesday. Considering what awaits the Vikings after Monday -- a flight back from the West Coast that should have them landing early Tuesday morning and a short week of preparation before a home opener against the Detroit Lions -- it's a good sign they're beginning the season without many nagging injuries.
