Jarome Iginla's debut with Pens must wait

New acquisition Jarome Iginla has not arrived in Pittsburgh yet and is not expected to be on the ice when the Penguins go for their 15th straight win on Saturday night against the New York Islanders, according to reports.

The Canadian citizen is dealing with immigration issues and is currently not permitted to work in the United States.

“We hope to have some information about that at some point this afternoon,” Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said Friday, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

The Penguins, who want Iginla to participate in at least one practice before playing in a game, are not scheduled to practice again until Monday. Therefore, Tuesday’s match against the Buffalo Sabres could be Iginla’s first game in a Pittsburgh sweater.

“Immigration issues are not an uncommon thing when having to get a visa,” Bylsma said, according to the report.
