North Carolina coach Roy Williams said Monday morning that key reserve P.J. Hairston is doubtful to play against Wake Forest on Tuesday because of the flu; starting center Desmond Hubert was among a couple other players suffering flu-like symptoms; and starting forward James Michael McAdoo didn't practice Sunday because of a sore back.
An afternoon update, courtesy of a team spokesman:
McAdoo, who hurt his back near the end of Saturday's win over Virginia Tech, is expected to practice Monday afternoon. He sat out Sunday as a precaution, but should be fine.
Hubert is expected to practice at least some Monday afternoon.
Hairston, who was administered an IV on Monday morning, was not expected to practice Monday afternoon. His illness is not related to the concussion that forced him to sit out Saturday's game. However, he cannot be administered another concussion test -- which he needs to pass in order to play -- until after he recovers from his current illness.
