MVP Shabazz Muhammad offered most of the highlights during Wednesday night's McDonald's High School All American game, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds. But an incoming Tar Heel recruit -- Iowa ballhandler Marcus Paige -- helped him out on at least one of his dunks.
In all, the 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard finished with six points and seven assists in the West's victory.
"I just wanted to show that I'm arguably the top point guard in the class, and show off my floor game and give Carolina fans a preview of what I think I can bring to the table," Paige told the Des Moines Register in a phone interview after the game.
And a solid preview might be just what Tar Heels fans needed -- considering Paige could be UNC's starting point guard next season, if sophomore Kendall Marshall chooses to leave early for the NBA.
"It was fun,'' Paige told the Register. "I think I had a pretty good game trying to get other guys involved."
