Over at Recruiting Nation, ESPN.com National Recruiting Analyst Paul Biancardi on Wednesday broke down the primary needs and targets for each of the ACC teams in 2013.
For his full analysis, click here, but here are his thoughts on UNC:
Primary needs: Two outstanding ESPN 100 prospects in PF Isaiah Hicks (Oxford, N.C./Webb) and PG Nate Britt (Washington, D.C./Gonzaga College) have already committed to Roy Williams but more help is needed. James Michael McAdoo is likely to play his way to the NBA, so there will be a need for a versatile frontcourt player with the ability to score facing the basket, run in transition and post up when needed. The Tar Heels will also keep looking for another shooter as well.
Targets: ESPN 100 C Kennedy Meeks (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte), ESPN 100 PF Austin Nichols (Memphis, Tenn./Briarcrest), ESPN 100 SF Jabari Parker (Chicago/Simeon), ESPN 100 PF Julius Randle (Dallas/Prestonwood), ESPN 100 PF Johnathan Williams III (Memphis, Tenn./Southwind), ESPN 100 SF Troy Williams (Hampton, Va./Oak Hill)
It's a great recruiting season if ... UNC lands one of the elite small forwards and power forwards in this year's class. At the top of the wish list are Parker, Randle, Williams III, Nichols and Williams. Local prospect Meeks would also be a welcome addition thanks to his wide body, sure hands and ability to throw outlet passes.
