The "Kings of Tobacco Road" game, scheduled to pit North Carolina alums vs. Duke alums next Thursday at N.C. Central for charity (and bragging rights), has been postponed.
Matthew Moyer, head of basketball operations for Kentucky-based Bleid Sports, said the game will be rescheduled. He did not give any details about why, or when it might be played in the future.
But the clock is ticking on Wednesday's 5 p.m. deadline, set by NBA commissioner David Stern, for the league's players to accept the latest contract offer from the owners. That seems like a likely factor.
