Manti Te'o named one of four Lott finalists

Manti Te'o was named one of four finalists Thursday for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, given to the defensive player who has made the biggest impact for his team both on and off the field.

The acronym stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.

Te'o is joined by three other linebackers: Kansas State's Arthur Brown, Georgia's Jarvis Jones and Stanford's Chase Thomas.

The winner will be announced the night of Dec. 9 at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Calif., with Condoleezza Rice serving as the keynote speaker. There, as a finalist last year, Te'o announced that he was returning to Notre Dame for his senior year and passing up an early chance at the NFL.

Boston College's Luke Kuechly won the award last season.
