Te'o cracks Heisman Watch

We hear you, Notre Dame fans. More specifically, we see what you see: Manti Te'o is a very good football player.

How good? He is No. 8 in our Heisman Watch this week, making him the highest-ranked defensive player on the 15-man list.

West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith is No. 1 overall. Te'o received a pair of fourth-place votes, along with three fifth-place votes. I had him fifth. Here's my ballot:

Notre Dame is No. 10 in our weekly power rankings. That's where I had the Irish as well, with the rest of my ballot below:

Mark Schlabach's and Brad Edwards' weekly bowl projections, meanwhile, both have the Irish destined for Glendale, Ariz., and the Fiesta Bowl. Schlabach has West Virginia as Notre Dame's opponent while Edwards projects Texas to land there.
