These three stood out in Notre Dame's 14-10 win Saturday over USC:
Stephon Tuitt, DE: Tuitt had a whirlwind week, getting ahead of himself by saying he would return for his senior year, then backtracking. He showed Notre Dame how important his presence is by recording two sacks, seven tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries and one pass break-up. He was given the game-ball for his efforts, and he said afterward that he'll decide his future once the season ends.
TJ Jones, WR: Just another day at the office for the senior captain, who hauled in four catches for 46 yards and a touchdown and returned a punt for five yards. Jones left the game after coming down hard on an out-of-bounds grab late in the first half. Two plays later, he made a great grab in the end zone to give the Irish the lead in what served as the game's final score.
Troy Niklas, TE: The junior took another step Saturday, coming up with the Irish's first touchdown and finishing the game with four catches for a team-best 58 yards. He has become more and more reliable in the passing game and will only get better as he completes his transformation as a complete tight end.
