Raiders' notes: Jason Tarver on the move?

A look at some Oakland Raiders notes:

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com is reporting Oakland defensive coordinator Jason Tarver is a candidate for the same job at Texas A&M. (However, it was reported Wednesday that LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis is expected to join the Aggies.) Tarver, like most of the Raiders assistants, will see his Oakland contract expire this month.

• Tarver’s best chance of staying in Oakland is if Oakland interim coach Tony Sparano gets promoted. So, it’s not surprising that Tarver is being connected to other jobs,

• CBS Sports mentioned the Raiders could be looking at Buffalo executive Russ Brandon if Oakland decides to add a leadership role. Others connected to Oakland have been Mike Holmgren and Minnesota’s Kevin Warren. Oakland owner Mark Davis is weighing his options. A top-of-the-franchise leader is one of the possibilities.

• In an Insider piece, Mel Kiper put together his All-Rookie team. Oakland linebacker Khalil Mack (first round) and defensive tackle Justin Ellis (fourth) made it.

• According to Nielsen Scarborough’s fall 2014 television rankings, the Oakland market was last in the NFL as far as local homes watching their team play. Just 29 percent of adults in the Bay Area, according to the survey, were tuned into the Raiders this season. The No. 1 team in the NFL with local viewership? Green Bay. A whopping 84 percent of adults locally were watching the Packers. The Raiders were ranked No. 32 last year as well.
