A day before spring practices begin, Arizona inside receivers coach Mike Smith opted to leave the program and appears headed for an opening at Kansas State, according to the Arizona Daily Star.
Smith would be the second Wildcats assistant to leave for Kansas State and "new" coach Bill Snyder, who is Arizona head coach Mike Stoops' former boss. Dana Dimel, a Kansas State graduate, left on Feb. 10, citing a desire to be closer to his 13-year-old son.
In fact, there's been an interesting exchange of coaches between K-State and the Pac-10 in the past month, considering California hired away Andy Ludwig from Kansas State before he'd coached a practice in Manhattan.
