It was a happy homecoming for Oregon State in a 31-28 win over Arizona State.
After taking two beatings on the road against top-five foes, the Beavers showed sharpness on both sides the ball.
With his brother, James Rodgers, out with a concussion, Jacquizz Rodgers gained 145 yards on 24 carries with two TDs. Perhaps more important in the big picture: QB Ryan Katz completed 19-of-29 for 260 yards with two TDs and no interceptions.
That's a far more efficient performance than the first three games.
And the struggling defense held the Sun Devils to just 364 yards. ASU had been averaging 495.
As for the Sun Devils, the chief concern might be QB Steven Threet. He threw three interceptions after throwing four last week vs. Oregon.
