Quick previews: Pac-10 Week 8

Here's a quick look at Week 8 in the Pac-10. All times are ET.

All rankings are from the BCS standings.

USC and Oregon State have the weekend off.

Thursday

UCLA (3-3, 1-2) at No. 2 Oregon (6-0, 3-0), ESPN, 9 p.m.: Can Oregon resist the "Curse of No. 1" -- in the national polls -- that took down Alabama and Ohio State? Will the Bruins have quarterback Kevin Prince, who is nursing a knee injury? Last time the Bruins were given no chance on the road, they whipped Texas.

Saturday

Arizona State (3-3, 1-2) at California (3-3, 1-2), FSN, 3:30 p.m.: Last year, the Bears pulled out a last-second win over the Sun Devils, 23-21, which also was one of quarterback Kevin Riley's best performances. The Sun Devils are coming off a bye, but they have not won at Cal since a 28-21 triumph in 1997.

Washington State (1-6, 0-4) at No. 12 Stanford (5-1, 2-1), FCS, 5 p.m.: The Cougars have played three consecutive competitive games. They are getting better. But Andrew Luck and Stanford, coming off a bye, might be too physical on both lines for the young Cougs.

Washington (3-3, 2-1) at No. 18 Arizona (5-1, 2-1), ESPN, 10:15 p.m.: Arizona turns to backup quarterback Matt Scott after Nick Foles went down with knee injury at Washington State that figures to sideline him for at least a few weeks. The Wildcats are tough at home, but will the loss of Foles give the Huskies and Jake Locker a chance to steal an upset? You might recall the Huskies did just that last year -- in dramatic and controversial fashion.
