Halftime: WSU 10, Cal 7 (really!)

Oh, Cal. Oh, Cal, Cal, Cal.

Golden Bears, you are trailing Washington State 10-7 at halftime. You are the first Pac-10 foe the Cougars have led since they were up on Washington 21-10 at the break in 2007 (thanks Vince Grippi).

Shoot, the Cougs haven't led anyone at halftime since they were up on Portland State, an FCS team, in 2008.

So bad for you, Cal. And good for the Cougs, who are bouncing back strongly after getting embarrassed 42-zip at Arizona State.

Washington State is trying to break a 15-game Pac-10 losing streak. Cal is trying to avoid a crushing defeat that certainly won't quiet the fans who are growing frustrated with Jeff Tedford.

Brock Mansion struggled in the first half, completing just 5 of 13 for 70 yards with an interception.

Lots of football to be played. But this could become a HUGE win for Paul Wulff. One that might ensure he's back in 2011.

Oh, Cal. Cal, Cal, Cal.
