A final decision on whether Washington quarterback Jake Locker will play Thursday against UCLA will be made Tuesday, coach Steve Sarkisian said.
Locker practiced Saturday for the first time since it was announced he'd suffered a broken rib. The Huskies are coming off a bye week, but redshirt freshman backup Keith Price started the Huskies 53-16 defeat at Oregon on Nov. 6.
"[The Huskies medical staff] is assessing him daily, not only actively throughout practice and how he is moving but also how he responds the next day," Sarkisian said. "In a perfect world, I'd love to know earlier, for us from a game-planning perspective. But we'll get a definitive answer tomorrow."
Sarkisian said that, thus far, the training staff has been "encouraged" by Locker's progress.
"I think he's responded well," Sarkisian said.
