Utah, Oregon land commitments

Utah and Oregon got good recruiting news from a pair of in-state athletes during the U.S. Army All-American Game in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday.

Four-star linebacker/receiver Colt Lyerla of Hillsboro, Ore., picked Oregon over USC and California. Both the Trojans and Bears recruited the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Lyerla for defense, while Oregon offered him a scholarship as a tight end/receiver. Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Stanford, Texas Tech, Washington, UCLA and Vanderbilt were among his other scholarship offers.

The Utes picked up a commitment from Running back/linebacker Harvey Langi of Bingham HS (South Jordan, Utah), who picked them over USC and Stanford.
