A little light reading for this afternoon.
No team in college football is more fashion-forward than the Oregon Ducks, who are well-known for their seemingly endless range of uniform combinations.
According to Mike Tokito of the Oregonian, we're going to see how Chip Kelly puts a combination together on the golf course.
Per Tokito, Kelly has been charged with organizing Casey Martin's wardrobe for next week's U.S. Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Martin has been the Oregon golf coach the last six years.
When Kelly was promoted to the Ducks’ head football coach in 2009, he tabbed Martin to help him select Oregon’s uniforms. The Ducks, of course, are famous for the wide array colors and patterns they wear. Kelly will get to return the favor for Martin, who did the chore during the 2009 season.
“It was fun,” Martin said. “Until I see what Chip does to me this week. And then, maybe payback for the white, green and grey Utah uniforms.”
Though the Pac-12 will be well-represented in the Open with headliners like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, I couldn't find anyone with ties to Washington. Which is a bummer, because I would have loved to see someone teeing in a Swagga Suit.
