Neither Arizona State quarterback Danny Sullivan's knee sprain nor his middling performance against Stanford will keep him from starting Saturday against California.
Coach Dennis Erickson said that Sullivan remained the Sun Devils' starter, while true freshman Brock Osweiler will continue to see action.
Sullivan, who ranks eighth in the Pac-10 in pass efficiency, was 12-of-23 for 143 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the 33-14 defeat at Stanford.
Osweiler replaced Sullivan when he got hurt and completed 1 of 7 passes for 18 yards.
"[Osweiler's] got a lot of talent and he continues to get better in practice and he's going to play this year," Erickson said. "I'm not saying he's going to start, but he'll play. He'll get in games and he'll get better all the time."
Sullivan is expected to return to practice Tuesday.
