Final: Oregon State 42, BYU 24

Oregon State didn't lose its groove with quarterback Sean Mannion out with a knee injury.

The 10th-ranked Beavers improved to 5-0 with backup Cody Vaz turning in a Mannion-like performance behind center in a 42-24 victory at BYU.

Vaz completed 20 of 32 passes for 332 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. His go-to receiver was Brandin Cooks, who overcame an early ankle injury to catch eight passes for 173 yards.

BYU entered the game ranked No. 3 in scoring defense (8.8 points per game), No. 5 in total defense (229.3 yards per game) and No. 1 in rushing defense (59.5 yards per game). The Beavers gained 450 yards and rushed for 118.

Meanwhile, the Oregon State defense gave up some yards -- 386 -- but it grabbed three interceptions, including Jordan Poyer's pick-six that iced the game in the fourth.

Oregon State is 5-0 for the first time since... 1939. Yeah, it's been a while.

The Beavers will host Utah next weekend.
