Colorado leads the series with Arizona 13-1, including a 48-29 win last year. The Wildcats' only win in the series came in 1986.
The Buffaloes rank last in the Pac-12 in scoring offense, scoring defense, total offense and rushing defense. But Arizona ranks last in total defense and pass defense. Arizona is 11th and Colorado 12th in pass efficiency defense.
The Buffs have just three interceptions all season, which ranks 113th in the nation. The Buffs have surrendered 40 sacks, tied for most in the conference. The Wildcats have just 13 sacks this season.
Oregon leads FBS in touchdown drives in two minutes or less (37), one minute or less (20) and three plays or fewer (17) this season.
Oregon has scored at least two touchdowns in two minutes or less in every game this season, including four such touchdowns. against USC last week. Louisiana Tech is the only other team to score at least two such touchdowns in all of its games.
Oregon has scored 129 points off turnovers this season, the most in FBS.
Oregon has 17 touchdown drives of 10 plays or more against FBS opponents this season, tied for the most in FBS. Of the 17 drives, 14 were 75 yards or longer.
Oregon State quarterback Cody Vaz has taken over for Sean Mannion as Oregon State’s starting quarterback, and one area where Vaz has outperformed Mannion is downfield passing. Vaz has completed at least half his passes thrown 10 yards or longer in every game this season and has just one interception. Mannion is completing 47.7 percent of such throws, including three interceptions in his last start against Washington.
Vaz is averaging 11.5 yards per attempt off play action this season, 4.1 more yards than Mannion. Vaz has the same number of touchdowns as Mannion off play action and more completions that gained at least 20 yards, despite attempting 25 fewer passes.
Kevin Hogan has completed all eight of his passes with two or more tight ends in formation, including three touchdowns. Last season, the Cardinal thrived in this formation, with Andrew Luck completing 69.2 percent of his passes with 18 touchdowns and no interceptions. Former starter Josh Nunes was unable to duplicate this success. He completed less than half his passes with at least two tight ends on the field this season.
Brandin Cooks and Markus Wheaton are averaging 4.4 more receiving yards per game than the entire Stanford team, despite being targeted 112 fewer times than the Cardinal have pass attempts. In fact, Cooks and Wheaton have two more receptions that gained at least 20 yards than the Cardinal, even with having played one fewer game.
In limited action this season, Hogan has played well in critical situations. He has completed all four of his passes on third down and 83.3 percent in the red zone. Both stats are better than Nunes. Hogan has also performed better at throwing downfield.
UCLA running back Johnathan Franklin leads the Pac-12 with 478 yards after contact this season.
Franklin has 12 runs that gained 20 yards or more, tied with Kenjon Barner for most in the Pac-12 and fifth most in FBS.
Washington State converts 34.3 percent of its third downs this season, which ranks 102nd in FBS this season.
UCLA averages 85.9 penalty yards per game this season, the second most in FBS this season.
USC receivers have more drops (6) than touchdowns (5) on passes thrown 25 yards or longer this season. Last season, Matt Barkley led players from AQ schools with 13 touchdowns on such throws.
On third and 2 or less, USC has converted 44.4 percent of its attempts, the second-lowest percentage in FBS. Silas Redd has eight first downs in 24 career such runs at USC and Penn State (3-8 this season).
Marqise Lee leads players from AQ schools this season with 695 yards after the catch.
USC commits 9.4 penalties per game this season, the most in FBS.
Washington leads the series with Utah 7-0, including a 31-14 win in Salt Lake last year. Washington is the only Pac-12 school that Utah has never beaten.
Utah must win two of its final three games to become bowl eligible for a 10th-straight year.
The Huskies are 4-1 this season at CenturyLink Field, a record that includes wins over then-No. 8 Stanford and then-No. 7 Oregon State.
According to the NCAA, Washington has played the second-toughest schedule in the nation to date while the remaining schedule ranks No. 116 in the nation.
Last year, the Utes also started 0-4 in Pac-12 play before winning four straight games and five of their last six, including a Sun Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.
Utah senior Reggie Dunn made NCAA history with his fourth career 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown versus WSU last Saturday. Going into the game, Dunn was tied for the record at three with Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State, 1986-88) and Brandon Boykin (Georgia, 2008-11).
Utah is 11-0 when John White rushes for 100 yards, which he has done three times this season, including the past two games.
