Washington State signed two junior college offensive linemen Wednesday and both will enroll in January so that they will be able to participate in spring practices.
Wade Jacobson of Hollister, Calif., spent the past two seasons at Gavilan College in Gilroy, Calif., where he earned All-Coast Conference and All-Region honors.
David Gonzales of Fresno, Calif., spent the last two years at Fresno City College, where he was an All-Valley Conference first-team selection.
“We felt all along Wade was one of the top offensive tackles on the West coast,” coach Paul Wulff said in a statement. “The fact that he and David can come in January makes them both very valuable to Cougar Football. Wade instantly brings us great toughness and athletic ability, and as a team we got better today .... David is a great addition to our program. He brings excellent size and athleticism to our program and can really help our pass protection. Having him arrive in January will be critical, as it gives him additional time in the weight room and allows him to participate in our spring practices.”
