USC fell from fifth to seventh in the latest BCS standings, while California entered the tally at No. 21.

The Trojans play host to the Bears on Saturday in a game that could eliminate the loser from the Rose Bowl race.

USC, which beat Washington 56-0 over the weekend, was ranked sixth in the coaches' poll, seventh in the Harris Poll and 10th by the computers.

The Trojans ranked fifth in the standings last week. The difference this week was that by playing winless Washington their computer average fell from sixth to 10th.

That number could perk up with a win over the Bears.
