Setting the scene

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- If the national title was about flashy socks, Oregon would beat Auburn 76-zip in the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game.

It would be fair to say there are more Auburn fans here. Maybe 60-40 before everyone is seated. But the Ducks fans seem to be matching their Auburn counterparts in terms of volume.

But it's early. You know: The Game has yet to start.

I arrived about four and a half hours before kickoff and the parking lots were just about full. A good showing among the RV crowd by Oregon fans, by the way. Pretty surprising because that's an SEC staple.

Just watching the Ducks running around, warming up, you can sense that the adrenaline is flowing. These guys are bouncing off the walls.

A lineup note: Rob Moseley of the Eugene Register Guard just tweeted that it appears that Darrion Weems will start at left tackle with Bo Thran at left guard (Carson York is No. 1 on the depth chart at guard).
