Quick update from Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Know some of you are getting impatient waiting for something from my Arizona visit.

Right now I'm on our chat panel. That ends at 6 p.m. Then I head to practice.

I talked to Mike Stoops, Mark Stoops and Sonny Dykes. Got some good stuff. But I probably won't get most of it up until Friday morning. Practice runs until 8 p.m. and I've got to get back north to Scottsdale.

Here's something:

The injured players -- tight end Rob Gronkowski, receiver Delashaun Dean and offensive guard Vaughn Dotsy -- should return to practice next week. So no big worries about them missing the season opener against Central Michigan.

Also, Dykes indicated that he'd name a starting quarterback soon, perhaps by Monday. I tried to get Mike Stoops to spill -- I used the infamous "1A gambit" -- but he immediately saw through my question and mocked me.

Most folks around here believe it's going to be Matt Scott. But we shall see.
