CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The Stanford Cardinal pulled away in the second half behind two Andrew Luck touchdown passes, their powerful running attack and a stiffened pass rush to survive a wet, yet motivated, Oregon State Beavers team 38-13.
Stanford has now won 17 straight games.
The victory came at a price though with the loss of wide receiver Chris Owusu and tight end Levine Toilolo. Owusu suffered a concussion and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital for observations. He was fully conscious and had full use of all his extremities when he left the game.
Toilolo had an "upper body" injury on the first play of the second quarter and did not return.
It was a hot-and-cold performance for Luck, who finished 20-of-30 for 206 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. When the passing game was floundering because of weather, drops, or poor decisions by Luck, the running backs stepped up to fill the offensive void. Stepfan Taylor rushed for 95 yards and Tyler Gaffney added a fourth-quarter touchdown. Taylor also had a 27-yard receiving touchdown.
Stanford closes out the regular season with three straight home games -- including next week's showdown with Oregon.
