QB Williams commits to Washington

The Washington Huskies have received a commitment from Troy Williams of Narbonne High (Harbor City, Calif.), who made his announcement earlier Friday.

Williams, who ranks 178th on the ESPN 300 is a dual threat quarterback who received numerous offers from Pac-12 schools but narrowed his decision down to Washington and Arizona. ESPN RecruitingNation rates the four-star Williams as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the nation.

Here's what ESPN's Erik McKinney writes:Insider

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound quarterback has been a known commodity in the area since his freshman season, when he participated with the varsity team and then took over as the starting quarterback as a sophomore. Last year, Williams led the Gauchos to a CIF title, as he threw for 3,247 yards and 34 touchdowns, and rushed for 587 yards and 11 scores.

Here's a video of Williams posted on RecruitingNation back in April.

According to Greg Biggins of Scout.com, Williams pulled a fast one by putting on an Arizona sweatshirt and hat, then stopped himself and said "I'm tripping, I'm going to UW."

Williams becomes the seventh commit for Washington, its fourth four-star and first on the ESPN 300.
