Pac-12 player of the week: Stepfan Taylor

If it's good enough for the Walter Camp National Player of the Week award, it's good enough for the Pac-12 blog.

Stanford running back Stepfan Taylor gets the nod this week for his efforts in helping Stanford knock off No. 2 USC for the fourth consecutive year.

When you look at the players who were in the game Saturday night: Matt Barkley, Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, Chase Thomas, Shayne Skov, T.J. McDonald, there were some pretty heavy hitters in terms of future NFL talent. But Taylor looked like the best player on the field, breaking tackles and showing good burst with a mix of elusive and power running.

Taylor carried the ball 27 times for 153 yards gained -- and netted -- meaning he didn't take a negative play. He had a 59-yard touchdown run and 23-yard touchdown reception, a swing pass that he turned into a score by breaking two tackles and dodging another along the way.

With the victory the Cardinal climbed to No. 9 in the AP rankings.
