Cal signs three-game contract with Nevada

California and Nevada have signed a three-game contract that will start with the Bears visiting the Wolf Pack next season on Sept. 18.

Nevada will visit Berkeley twice in future seasons, though dates have not yet been decided.

Cal holds a 29-2-1 lead in the series, but the teams have played only once since 1945. Cal won that 1996 meeting in Berkeley, 33-15.

The addition of the game vs. Nevada completes Cal’s schedule for the 2010 season. In addition to visiting Nevada, the Bears will host UC Davis (Sept. 4) and Colorado (Sept. 11) in their other two nonconference games. Among Cal’s future nonconference opponents past the 2010 season are Colorado (away in 2011), Ohio State (away in 2012, home in 2013), Northwestern (home in 2013, away in 2014) and Texas (away in 2015, home in 2016).
