Report: Threet to transfer to Arizona State

ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that Michigan sophomore quarterback Steven Threet is transferring to Arizona State.

Threet apparently has picked the Sun Devils over Oregon State.

If he suits up for ASU -- he'll have to sit out a year, per NCAA transfer rules, and will have two remaining years of eligibility -- this will be Threet's third BCS school, having previously enrolled at Georgia Tech and Michigan.

Threet will now play in his desired pro-style offense for the first time. He started eight games for the Wolverines, who adopted a spread offense last year. He completed just over 50 percent of his passes for 1,105 yards, with nine touchdowns and seven interceptions, and he rushed for 201 yards.

Senior Danny Sullivan is ASU's likely starting quarterback. Threet would compete with freshman Brock Osweiler and sophomore Samson Szakacsy in 2010.

Former Miami quarterback Robert Marve also considered Arizona State, but he appears headed to Purdue.
