The Pittsburgh Steelers will continue to meet with free-agent cornerbacks Tuesday when they host Sterling Moore for a visit, per ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
The Steelers are meeting with Patrick Robinson on Monday. Moore, who played in 16 games for the Dallas Cowboys last season and started seven of them, will become the second free-agent cornerback to visit with the team.
The Steelers have four cornerbacks on their roster with NFL experience as Antwon Blake has signed the one-year, $1.542 million contract that Pittsburgh offered him as a restricted free agent.
Fullback Will Johnson and safety Robert Golden also signed their one-year deals for the same amount of money.
Blake’s return had been expected, and it hasn’t stopped the Steelers from looking for more help at cornerback after Brice McCain signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.
Moore, a former SMU teammate of Steelers left tackle Kelvin Beachum, recorded 46 tackles last season and was credited with 13 passes defended. The 5-foot-10, 202-pounder is probably best suited as a nickel back, and he played for the New England Patriots in 2011 and part of 2012 before signing with the Cowboys.
Moore, who turned 25 in February, became an unrestricted free agent when the Cowboys did not offer him a one-year contract that would have kept him a restricted free agent.
