Levi Brown out with triceps injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers got off to a bad start before even the opening kickoff at MetLife Stadium.

Levi Brown, recently acquired from Arizona to help shore up left tackle, hurt his right triceps during pre-game warm-ups and he won’t be available for today’s game against the New York Jets.

Brown wasn’t slated to start -- Kelvin Beachum will get the nod at left tackle -- but Guy Whimper is the Steelers’ only reserve offensive lineman with Mike Adams inactive.

Inactives can't be changed once they are submitted 90 minutes before kickoff.

More worrisome for the Steelers is Brown hurt the same triceps that he tore in 2012.

The injury caused the seventh-year veteran to miss the entire season.
