Steelers sign Richardson, add two to roster

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday signed cornerback Shaquille Richardson, one of their two fifth-round draft picks, and made a couple of roster moves.

The Steelers signed offensive lineman Emmanuel McCray and claimed cornerback Deion Belue off waivers from the Miami Dolphins.

The 6-foot-5, 324-pound McCray had signed with St. Louis as an undrafted free agent, but the Rams released the Mississippi product two weeks ago. The Steelers were awarded Belue on Wednesday. He played at Alabama and had signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent.

To make room on their roster, the Steelers released offensive linemen Nik Embernate and Kaycee Ike.

The signing of Richardson to a four-year contract leaves just four of the Steelers’ nine draft picks unsigned.

Richardson has been taking part in the Steelers’ organized team activities. The Steelers are holding their final OTA of this week today.
