The first kicker ever to win four Super Bowls, Adam Vinatieri hails from Yankton, S.D.

After four years at South Dakota State, Vinatieri joined the World League of American Football before signing as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots.

It didn't take long for Vinatieri to make a name for himself with game-winning kicks in the infamous Tuck Rule game and Super Bowls XXXVI and XXXVIII.

Now with the Colts, Vinatieri has been a teammate of two of the greatest quarterbacks of his era: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. These days, he plays alongside the QB many are calling the next great one, Andrew Luck.

What is the biggest misconception about you?

People think kickers in general kick field goals. But kickers are actually good athletes; we run and work out just like the rest of the football team.

Al Pacino. He’s just a great actor. And Jack Nicholson. The two of them together.

George Washington. I’d love to pick his brain and ask him about building a new country and what it was like back then.

My wits.

If it’s a night game, chicken, pasta, sweet potato and a salad. That seems like a lot, because it is. It’ll be a while before I eat again.
