Born and raised in Silver Lake, Kansas, Lon Kruger served as coach of the Florida Gators, Illinois Fighting Illini, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and UNLV Rebels before taking over the Oklahoma Sooners.

In his time in Norman, he is 25-19, but only 6-13 in the Big 12 -- a record he looks to boost later today with an upset over conference powerhouse Kansas.
