Osi Umenyiora is terrible at good deeds

Osi Umenyiora was all set to buy Lawrence Taylor's Super Bowl XXV ring back for him until ... Andrew Mills/US Presswire

Lawrence Taylor Jr. put his father’s Super Bowl XXV ring up for auction last week, and current Giants star Osi Umenyiora swooped in to save the day.

Umenyiora then reduced the target follower total to 500,000. But, alas, the deadline came and went, and he fell about 450,000 followers short. So close!

Of course, he then stepped forward, did the right thing and bought Taylor’s his ring back anyway. Wait, what? He didn’t? Why not?

Huh. Interesting.

I’d hate to be someone needing charity if Umenyiora happens by.

“Yes, I’ll give you a quarter, homeless man, but first you need to follow me on Twitter. What? You don’t have a Twitter account? Then I’m out of here.”

“I get what you’re doing, Salvation Army bell ringer guy. But I’ll need follows from Santa, Mrs. Claus and every one of the elves before you get any of the money that I can reach quite easily in my pocket right now.”

“I’ll give some money once or twice to a church, but three times is way overboard. At least give me a follow from @God.”
