Springtime In New York

King Of Spring

While lots of things are happening all over the place this weekend, some real good stuff is going down tomorrow in New York City. Originally slated to happen on 4/20, the long talked about King Of Spring (yep, another "King") Contest was moved forward due to the weathermans predictions of sunday showers. So this Saturday, April 19, will be the official date of the 12th and A, King of Spring Contest. The event will be hosted by NYC personalities, Lurker Lou and Billy Rohan, feature tons of giveaways, skate celeb appearances, food, a live performance by Razortail and a skateboard showdown in the form of a best trick contest. They'll be 3 G's in cash prizes. The thing starts at 11AM and goes forward til 6 and will go down at 420 East 12th Street. Google Map it if you don't know. This one's gonna be history in the making.

In more New York news, The Zoo York Institute has just announced an exclusive collaboration with the world renowned hip-hop collective, the Lordz of Brooklyn. This limited edition collab features a co-branded ZY skateboard deck and T-shirt with custom graphics that chronicle the band's gritty Bay Ridge upbringing, graffiti roots, blue collar pride, and deep family ties. Slated to drop in late April, only 500 decks and tees will be available at select retailers worldwide. Bangin'. I'm getting on one of these. You should do the same.
